What is Be Out Day?
Be Out Day originated on the campus of Florida A&M University as an annual springtime tradition designed to bring students together outdoors to enjoy community and entertainment. Today, Be Out Day: Texas Takeover continues that tradition in the Dallas–Fort Worth area by celebrating HBCU culture and raising scholarship funds for deserving students. The event features food vendors, live entertainment, games, retail vendors, and family-friendly activities for the entire community.

Registration & Entry
Is there a cost to attend Be Out Day Dallas 2026?
General admission is free, but if you would like to purchase a tent package, purchases are available on the website.
How do I register for the event?
Registration can be completed through our landing page. Early registration is recommended to secure your spot and receive event updates.
If I purchased a tent package, can I pick where to set up?
No. Premier location is given to sponsors and early purchasers of tent packages. We encourage you to purchase tents as soon as possible to ensure you get a great location. Priority will be given to anyone who purchases a tent versus those who bring their own tents.
Tent Packages & Park Guidelines
Can I bring my own tent?
Yes, but there is a cost to bring your own tent, and you will be set up behind those who have purchased pre-assembled tents. Personal tents must comply with event guidelines.
What are the event guidelines for tents?
Tents included in the tent packages are 10’ x 10’. All tents must be no larger than 10’ x 10’. Tents cannot be staked into the ground and must be held down by sandbags.
Can I bring an additional tent if I purchased a tent package?
No. There is a separate fee for personal tents and they must be positioned behind the purchased pre-assembled tent section.
What can’t I bring?
Fireworks, firearms and/or weapons of any kind, tents larger than 10’ x 10’, pets or animals, grills or open flames, illegal drugs and/or illicit substances of any kind, or a bad attitude. Law enforcement will be present for the safety of our attendees and rules will be enforced.
Are chairs included with tent packages?
No. Chairs are not included but can be purchased for an additional cost.
Are pets allowed?
No. Except for registered service animals, absolutely no pets or animals of any kind are allowed.
May I bring a grill?
No open flame grills are permitted.
Can I bring my own food and drinks in a cooler?
No outside food or drinks are permitted, but we will have food and drink vendors on site.

How can I become a sponsor?
Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels. Interested sponsors can send email to [email protected] or visit our landing page for more details on sponsorship packages.
How do I apply to be a vendor?
Vendor applications are available on our website. We welcome food, retail, and service vendors. Spaces are limited, so early application is recommended.
Is this a kid-friendly event?
Yes. The event will include a dedicated kids’ zone with games, crafts, and family-friendly entertainment.

Yes, we will have a variety of food options from food vendors.
Logistics & Parking
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking will be available on-site and parking is free. Please follow event signage and staff instructions for designated parking locations.
Will restrooms be available?
Yes. Restrooms will be available throughout the event area.
